Bone Broth is one of the most important ingredients in any kitchen and its so good for your body; bone broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and contains healing compounds like collagen, glut-amine, glycerin and pro line. The collagen in bone broth heals your gut lining and reduces intestinal inflammation. Guess what its soooo easy to make at home. I've been making this from scratch for about 5 years now and when ever I have run out I miss it. If you have a large stock pot it you can make it on the stove; if you have a crockpot you can make it in there if you have a pressure cooker, stove top or electric you can make it in there, all means are simple and worth it. Yes your house will smell like chicken for a few days but that is another thing that makes it all worth it. I make mine using left over baked chicken and when ever I make whole chickens I reserve the back and toss them into the freezer. Here is how its done:

Roasted chicken bones from left over baked chicken or the backs of a whole roasted chicken.

2-3 medium carrots (no need to peel them just wash them) snap them in half and toss them in the pot

1 medium to large onion ( just cut it in half and toss it in skin and all)

1 head of garlic ( cut in 1/2 and toss it in the pot no need to peel)

2 stalks of celery snapped in 1/2

2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar-ACV ( I like to use Bragg's because it has the mother in it which is an awesome probiotic)

3 whole bay leaves

2 tbsp Sea Salt

2 tbsp black pepper

2 tbsp each, dried thyme, oregano and sage

6-8 cups of filtered water

Toss all your ingredients into the pot, bring to boil then reduce to simmer if you're cooking on the stove top in a stock pot. Stock pot can be placed on simmer for 24 hrs with the lid on. You can get 3 batches out of this. After 24 hrs strain your stock replace the ingredients back in to the pot and add in more seasoning and ACV along with the same amount of water and repeat the process until the 3rd batch is done. If you are doing this with a crock pot just place all ingredients into the crock pot fill with water and turn on low for 24 hrs as well making up to 3 batches and repeating the process. If you are using a stove top pressure cooker place all ingredients into the pot and fill with water up to 2/3 full, follow your pressure cooker manual on time and pressure. You can get 2 batches out of this. If you're using an electric pressure cooker like the Instant pot, place all ingredients into the pot add water to fill the pot up to 2/3 leaving a 1/3 space. manual set for 45 minutes on high pressure with Natural pressure release for 10 minutes. You can get 2 batches out of this.

Over the years I have used every method and have fallen in love with the Instant pot because I can get results so much fast with a better outcome and a healthier broth. But what ever method you choose to use be sure that it will be awesome!

What do I use my Chicken Bone broth for you ask? Well I use it to make rice, I use it for sauces, gravies, deglazing my pans, soups, stews; really anything that I can think of. Heck sometimes I just sip on it when its cold out or I feel myself getting sick, its a great pick me up.
